JACKSON COUNTY – The former Hooper’s Restaurant is on fire and the roof has collapsed while firefighters were battling the blaze.
The fire broke out before 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning (Aug. 16).
Crews from several fire departments are on scene.

Hooper’s was most recently vacant – Trevalino’s restaurant put up signage over a month ago, but never opened in earnest. Prior to that, it was Peter’s Pancakes, Ironstone Grill and Nick and Nates. Prior to that it was Andretti’s Pizzeria and before that it was Eagles dime store.
Other businesses including Motion Makers and Hooker’s fly shop appear to have their doors broken down for firefighter access.
It is unknown what buildings the fire has affected.
In March emergency officials conducted a drill for a “what-if” scenario of a large-scale fire downtown.
